The Local Church
The Origin of the Church
The New Testament Church was started by Jesus Christ during His earthly ministry and consists of baptized believers called out from within the Kingdom of God, for the purpose of bringing glory unto Christ by the preaching of the Gospel and the edification of the Saints. The local visible church is the only entity that fits the Biblical definition of a church. Matthew 16:18, 18:17, 28:20, 1 Corinthians 1:1-13, 11:2, Acts 2:41-42, 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1.
